David Beckham is reportedly a step closer to moving to Paris Saint Germain after his family began planning their move to the city.
The cash-rich club have long been linked with a move for the former England captain as he prepares to leave LA Galaxy.
And now a deal is said to be imminent with Beckham's wife Victoria set to visit Paris in the next few weeks to look for an apartment.
David is due to play what could be his final game for LA Galaxy in the MLS Cup Final against Houston Dynamo in the early hours of Monday morning.
His five-year contract ends on December 31.
A source close to the family told the Sunday Mirror: 'David may be coming towards the end of his career but he is still so dedicated to the game and he’s desperate to go out on a high.
'PSG could provide him with the perfect opportunity to do that.
'It will also keep him in the mind of the Olympic Team GB football selectors. Being selected is a major priority for him.
'He was there in Singapore with Lord Coe and Tony Blair when we won the bid in 2005 so he feels playing in the tournament would bring him full circle and be a suitable ending to what has been a fantastic career.'
'Victoria has always liked the idea of living there and now she is heavily involved in the fashion industry she loves the idea of being surrounded by so many creative influences in the fashion capital of the world.
'Both her and David also agree they’d like the boys to experience a culture away from the slightly surreal world of Hollywood. Paris would allow them to learn another language and meet a completely different type of person. They feel it would broaden their horizons.
'And of course, David would get one more stint in a top league, competing for major honours both domestically and in Europe.
'If he moved to Paris St Germain he will have played at the very pinnacle of leagues in England, Spain, the US, Italy and France which is a fantastic achievement.'
